We are pleased to welcome Shayce Johnston, M.Ed, Ed.S. to our clinical staff. Shayce will join us as a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern and Registered Marriage and Family Therapy Intern with the state of Florida. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology (2017), a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling (2020), and a Specialist degree in Education (2020), all from the University of Florida. She is also a current doctoral student in Counseling and Counselor Education at UF. She brings clinical experience from her time as an intern at UF Health Psychology – Springhill where she worked with a variety of clients from diverse populations and backgrounds.
Shayce works to help clients navigate the challenges of anxiety, depression, OCD, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), bipolar disorders, adjustment and relationship concerns, aging and geriatric issues, and topics related to LGBTQ+ clients and their families. She also brings special insight counseling children and caregivers due to her role as a parent who homeschooled her own daughters from kindergarten through high school, as well as a global educator with more than 3,500 hours working with non-native English-speaking students and their families. She employs a creative, strength-based, collaborative approach using an integrative systems perspective and enjoys working with clients both in-person and through teletherapy.
In her free time, Shayce enjoys spending time with her family, watching and participating in sports, and perfecting family recipes in the kitchen and on the grill. Her schedule will be open soon for appointments.
