Karla Gonzalez-Rubio

Karla is a Registered Social Work Intern. Prior to completing her Master’s degree at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida, Karla attended Florida International University where she studied Social Work and earned a degree Social Work as well as Gender Studies.  Karla is dedicated to community service and has worked with various programs such as Strong women strong Girls, where she received an award in Civic Engagement for most hours volunteered. Her previous clinical experience primarily focused on working with Seniors concentrating on Anxiety and Depression disorders.

Karla was born in Miami, Florida and relocated to Gainesville in December of 2020.  She has a great passion for community work and community organization and strives to make the world a better place not only through helping clients to successfully achieve their therapeutic goals but also by giving back to the community and connecting with others.

Karla’s primary approach to therapy is Solution Focused Therapy in conjunction with CBT and a Humanistic approach to help clients reach their goals while providing a safe, confidential and supportive environment that promotes healing.
