Devin Shorey, M.Ed., Ed.S, is a Registered MHC and MFT Intern with the state of Florida. He is an alumnus of the University of Florida (UF) and the University of South Florida (USF). Prior to becoming a counselor at Gainesville Community Counseling Center, Devin was part of the Santa Fe College Counseling Center, providing counseling services to the college students there, helping them manage issues relating to depression, anxiety, trauma, anger management, relationship issues, etc. Before this, Devin also worked as a part of Project Catch, an organization which placed counselors at local schools in the Lake City area. Devin provided counseling services to students ranging from grades K-12 and their families, helping them manage issues relating to trauma, depression, academics, and noncompliance at home and at school. Devin’s theoretical approach is a mixture of solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, and person-centered therapy. In his spare time, Devin enjoys writing, socializing with friends, and exercising.
